Is there a government grant for single mom’s that gives you money to pay for child care while in school?
I am a single mother and I work full time. I make too much to be on assistance and I got a grant and loans through my school to pay for most of my school costs. But is there another grant you can get to help pay for the cost of childcare and other expenses while you are in school?
FAFSA assistance can be used for childcare. From the government website http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/what010.htm
=======================
Federal student aid covers school expenses such as tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies, and transportation. This aid can also help you pay for a computer and dependent childcare expenses.
=======================
It may not be adequate though. Talk to your financial aid office and ask what your options are
Or you can call the Federal Student Aid Information Center http://www.ed.gov/programs/fpg/gtepfpg.pdf at 1-800-433-3243 and ask them if there are any programs for you
Is there any financial assistance for single moms in Ontario, Canada?
Hello
I’m a divorced single mom of 2 young boys. My ex doesn’t pay his child support. And he’s left me to pay with everything from our life together (i.e. credit cards, utilities). He doesn’t pay for anything.
I work full time and am not on social assistance nor do I want to be.
I am looking for some government assistance during this time.
I would like to go back to school and get a better education. Does the government pay for this for single moms? Is there a grant for single moms?
Any other financial assistance would be appreciated as well. What else would I be eligible for?
Thank you so much.
Ibu Guru .. I am not stupid by any means and I certainly don’t appreciate your judgemental response. It’s very clear to me how ignorant you truly are. Maybe one day you will go through something similar and someone will slap you in the face just as you have.
So much for helping out humanity.
I work full time and I could be like so many others and rely on the taxpapers and go on social assistance, however I chose not to because I have morals and standards.
Next time, if you don’t have any decent advice keep your comments to yourself!
Were you actually born in Canada? If so, what a poor example of a true Canadian.
Who was your attorney in the divorce? Contact your attorney and begin proceedings against your children’s father for their support.
You got stuck with the bills because you did not go about the split properly with a good attorney. Stupidity is very expensive. So while you are going about with the attorney on the child support, see if it is too late to amend the court order for the property settlement in the divorce, or whether you have any other options.
The only thing more costly than getting an attorney is NOT getting one when you really need one. Hope you learned your lesson and are ready to get on with things properly now. Do not look to taxpayers to bail you out when you make really big mistakes. You always pay for your mistakes, one way or another, so get smart fast and fix things best you can now.
Does anyone know of any TRULY free government grants for single moms?
I am raising 2 kids with no child support and working part time so that i can keep them out of day care. I am drowning in bills and the price of everything from gas to green beans keeps going up. I always hear talk of government grants for single moms but i don’t know how to get one or who qualifies. I can’t qualify for regular government aid because i refuse to ask for child support because both of my children’s fathers are really awful (i don’t have enough space here to really explain, but i have VERY good reasons) and i don’t want my kids to have to have visitation with them, because it would be damaging to them. But the state doesn’t care about any of that. Anyway, any info would be helpful. I need some help here!

where can i get a government grant to open a business? I am a single mom?
I want to open a store for children clothing . I already have the recources to get started now I need the money. I have gone on sites and they want to charge for info. I have no money for that.
None of our hard earned tax dollars are going into private businesses to improve their profit margin. It isn’t happening.
You can obtain a business LOAN to open a business, that way the tax payers have nothing on the line. http://www.sba.gov
We wanna go to college, why is the government hating on us for being good parents?
So we’ve been researching government grants bc we want a better life for our child(coming in march).. there’s all sorts of grants for single moms or single dads, but what about for those parents who actually stay together but want to go to college???
